Copyright Laws

Many photographers and artists do not know the copyright laws. Here is a brief overview:

* You have paid me to use the photographs that I took.

* I own the copyright to those photographs unless we have a signed agreement to state that only you will be able to use them.

* If another party uses them, I need to be compensated by that party.

*If someone approaches you to use my photographs, please send them my way. Do not give them permission to use my photos.

* You may use the photographs you bought from me for anything related to your business, including copies for postcards, fliers and advertisements.

* If you want to own the copyright to photographs, you can either enter into a contract, as stated above, or I need to be using your equipment.

* I may use my photographs for my own advertisement of my work. If there is a person in it, I would need to get their permission to use it.
